Clock Tower (College, 2014)

Been sick this week, so I'm uploading something old.

The assignment was to make a piece of paper drift down a street, so the street would come first. In our brief we were told that we needed a minimum of 10 seconds of a piece of rubbish flying around, but that the animation has to be a maximum of 15 seconds. This means I had 5 seconds to do whatever I want. I was dead set on modeling characters, but as it was a setting we were to design, I had the idea to blur the line between setting and character. This gave me the idea of making a clock face into a robot face that shot lasers.

This was the first animation I made in 3DS Max, and very reluctantly at that. As I arrived late into my college course, my peers had already been given this assignment and learned the basics of 3DS max. Fortunately, our task was relatively simple- presumably as a confidence building exercise. Professor Layton was my main influence, and I'm told it shows!

The final video!
